Orchar Park Development

15/01/2026

2025 was hugely significant for the future of the club. We signed a long-term lease on the old bowling green and pavilion at Orchar Park, where we’ve trained and played since our founding in 1973.
To develop the site, we’ve embarked on a multi-phase, multi-year redevelopment project, with a huge amount already achieved in Phase One, including:
Fixing numerous plumbing and drainage issues and installing an outside tap.
Purchasing essential grounds equipment including a lawnmower, trimmer, hedge cutters, hoses and sprinklers.
Cutting back hedges and tackling knee-deep grass.
Collapsing the bank and filling in the trench around the bowling green.
Laying four tonnes of topsoil, weed-killing and feeding the grass.
Servicing fire extinguishers and installing appropriate smoke alarms.
Registering with the Information Commissioner’s Office and installing CCTV.
Purchasing and installing four 7-a-side roller goals.
Painting the exterior of the building, front gate and benches overlooking Pitch A.
Donating the old ticket machine to the Dundee Museum of Transport.
Donating old bowling foot lockers to Dundee East Over 35s.
Receiving a generous donation of tables and chairs for the hall.
Installing new Broughty United signage on the front gate and building.
Still to come in Phase One are:
New outside toilets (disabled, ladies, baby-changing and gents), with installation almost complete.
Racking and storage bins for the downstairs store.
Looking ahead for Orchar Park Phase 2:
We’re delighted to say that Phase Two of the Orchar Park project is already underway. This phase focuses on the development of the pavilion for club use, creating a facility that better supports our players, coaches, volunteers and the wider community.
Our architects’ drawings are complete, and we’ve begun the formal approvals process by submitting a request for Landlord’s Consent to Dundee City Council. Once this is granted, we’ll be ready to move forward and seek Planning Permission.
It’s an exciting and important step in securing long-term, sustainable facilities for Broughty United and for football in the east end of Dundee.
